What Does A Normal Project Include?

  • The base price for the Casita is $60,000; however, including additional project expenses, the total cost typically ranges between $110,000 and $150,000 for most projects.
  • For 1- and 2-bedroom units, the total cost is generally around $200,000, covering construction, materials, and other related expenses.

What Are The Next Steps?

After your place your initial order fee, a BOXABL dealer will reach out to coordinate a preliminary site plan & site analysis for your project. The dealer will be responsible for taking site measurements, putting together a site plan, looking into permitting, zoning, and site preparation requirements, as well as provide you a final estimate.

Your BOXABL dealer will give you a more accurate estimate after completing the steps listed above. The site plan & analysis is needed in order to determine project feasibility, costs, and all of the factors that affect your project price.

What Factors Impact The Project Estimate?

Each project is different in terms of scope and complexity. Following the preliminary site plan & site analysis, and completion of any necessary tests, you will receive a final estimate from your BOXABL dealer for your project. Various factors that can lead to higher project costs include, but are not limited to:

  • Septic System Installation
  • Electrical Panel/Utility Upgrades
  • Deep Trenching For Utilities
  • Project in a Flood Zone, High Wind Zone, or Special Soils
  • Custom Engineering
  • Restricted Site Access
  • Tree Removal
  • Extra Upgrades (Porch, Deck, etc.)

How Can I Pay For The Casita?

Your dealer will walk you through different financing options. There are various ways to pay for your project. . The option that you choose depends on your specific financial situation, market conditions, and personal preference. The most common options include:

Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)

A home equity line of credit, otherwise known as a HELOC, is a revolving line of credit that is secured by the equity in a homeowners existing property & typically structured as a 2nd Mortgage. This can be a flexible and cost-effective financing option if you have significant equity in your existing home (especially if you already have a low-rate 1st mortgage that you want to keep in place).

Secured and Unsecured Financing

You are able to explore financing options through various banks, credit unions, and/or direct mortgage lenders to pay for your One Bedroom Casita. Down payments, loan terms, interest rates, and monthly payments generally vary based on how the loan is structured as well as your specific financial situation. We have a list of preferred lenders that are familiar with the BOXABL Casita and have lending products that can be tailored to meet your specific requirements.

Cash

Paying for your project in full without using any sort of a loan is always an option as well. Paying in full can be an attractive option for those with the means to do-so, as it results in no monthly mortgage payments.
